The headlight lens is splitting from the housing. It's just glued in place at the bosch factory. This happens when the seal is pushing too hard on the lens. I've seen this on two new lens recently. Just remove the unit and re-glue with a clear adhesive.

^^^ FL, can you suggest an actual namebrand adhesive? just had this happen to one side of a brand new set of lenses and i am at a loss as to what to use? i tried silicone and it was ok for about 2 weeks then began to separate again. Thanks in advance!

I believe I used GOOP Adhesive Marine. It's been several months so I'm going from memory. It dries clear and is UV resistant. I glued the lens with the light out and clamped with several large heavy rubber bands. I left them for 24hrs and then installed the lights. Both lights (two different 993s) have held for half a year with no issues.

Hi There
I replaced the headlamp lenses on my 1994 C2 last week and found that there are two different types of lens and gasket. The difference is that the original lenses had a nodule at the top of the glass to locate a simlarly located cut out in the gasket. The replacements had the nodule at the side, so the gaskets and lenses were not interchangeable. The newer gaskets would fit by rotating them, but then the profile of the gasket was wrong and you end up with a gap like the OP.

I just wanted to close the loop so this thread would be helpful for futur users.
I bought the rail guide and put it in place just to see if it helped... it did solve the problem!
BUT, since it wasn't screwed in place, the rail was blocking the light and I had to pull hard on the headlight to remove it, which bent the metal guide.
Now I need to buy an other rail. But to bolt it in place, I don't see how I can do it without removing the bumper... Is there an other way???
Thanks to everyone for your help with this issue!
