Default 1998 993 - new high in price due to ...

(a) naiveté, or
(b) wishful thinking, or
(c) a vast premium for tired hoses, partial leather and A/C.

But wait, he is the original owner and a purchase price plus inflation for 18 years for a "new" car - makes sense.

Who are these people?

What are you talking about? You have a particular advertisement in mind?

well, there is a 97 4S in the newest Pano. Factory delivery, one owner, sunroof delete, sport seats, 83K miles, for...$54K. That seems a tad optomistic to me...

I have a childhood friend who goes thru cars very frequently. Last summer he rumbled in with an 06 Z06 that he just had extensive cam/head/intake work done on. Monster power, practically unusable power really. The car had 2000+ miles on it when he bought it.

He always lusted after 993's, but was always looking at very low mile examples. Today, he rolled in with an 08 GT3, less than 3K miles when he bought it...he just did the muffler delete or something to it. He won't track it-he's just way too much of a short shifter, and fairly timid.

Anyway, he's been looking at the 993 WB and TT market seriously since last year. Prices are indeed escalating for low mile examples. Didn't make sense to me really, him looking for a real low mileage car, since he will put a few K miles on whatever he gets per year.

Wonder how long this GT3 will last.

My bad. http://collection.autoweek.com/colle...cles-for-sale/. Low mileage, a/c garage, partial leather = big premium at $125,000.

I get that, many of us here do. The 993C2S asking prices are just a step beyond stupid though.... That said, I wonder at what dollar level these C2S coupes really sell at?

Hey,, to each his own. But can these 993 C2S sellers spare us the silly auction Item description/text.

Hey,,, I got this cat and at $1 million USD its yours.....Man,,, we're fond of that cat. It may even have optional stripes... who knows. Step right up $1 million USD!

the 964 and 993 market are taking a little bit of a turn in the up direction. Not that big however.
