History reports are generally suspect
History reports are generally suspect as they tend to be incomplete:
CarFax may be of some limited value if the car was majorly wrecked and fixed through an insurance claim or had a salvage title at one time.
The dealer should have a complete listing of any service done at dealerships in the dealer network service history system - mostly during the in-warranty period.
I guess you my be trying to get at what service issues you may encounter. Seeing that all the cars in North America are at least 14 years old or older a better measure of what may need doing is to look at the attached list.
