Made offer on the car this morning, they called me back about noon and they did accept it, BUT before I went to go pick it up I did a AUTO CHECK and the car has a accident report from 2007, the funny thing is that they pulled a CAR FAX report for me when i was there and the car is clean on that report I just called them and told them NO deal ...

Smart move Rudy. During ownership of my 997.1 I was backed into in a parking lot. Just a new bumper cover but because it was on his insurance tab my car showed up on Auto Check but not Carfax. Full disclosure on my part when I traded it on my .2 but when l checked the stealerships ad guess which one they posted.

Close, but no cigar

Learn a new lesson today, do a auto check and car fax for any car before buying, I would of been screw if I wouldn't check that report at the last minute

Rudy: since you already have quite a few, not scoring this one if of no consequence and I'd done the same in your shoes.

Personally my take is diff, if I were in the market and presumably if the accident were a minor fender bender, I'd use that to talk down the price a couple grand.

At $25k +/-, it'd make a good daily driver, after dealer fixed the CEL.

At 63K miles .. if the bodywork was done right and all it needed is a paint correction/detail, I'd say it's a bargain.

I don't know where this car stands as we speak, but I had my guy (#2 at a local Sonic dealership) here put in an inquiry. If you're wondering what kind of margins there are, let's say their sister dealership took in and sold a Viper for $40K that they had $27K into............

(I won't even get to the stories of POS 996/Boxsters I get a call about now and again, because they know what I'm into. Or 10 year old diesel trucks, usually in better shape with fewer miles than my own, they have given $4-5-6K on.)

JPP, the auto check shows as a minor accident, before I knew about the accident my offer that they received was $26k and that's with the check engine light issue, the car will need that paint problem fixed and it will need some better looking wheels, everything else checked out fine , the car rides smooth, ac blows cold and the tranny shifts smooth and there are NO oil leaks , I think this car in all is a good car for the price, but not for me..
Here's pictures of the paint problem

^^^ well, that's a decent deal. Looks to me like that paint could be brought back by a good detail shop.

Yes it can , I had my detail guy look at it and he said the same thing, if it had black interior I would of bought it and had the whole car painted in RB

^^^ I wouldn't color change this car ... it's a rare C4 and the factory color is saveable. That's where the money is here ...

I really appreciate that! Thank you. I have been looking for an air cooled guy here in the Woodlands for so long to service my 964. I've resorted to using somone up in Conroe, but I'm not to happy with him. I'll let you know how this deal pans out. I've wanted a 993 for over 3 years now. I blew a deal on one up in Tulsa back in 2011 for only 17K and am still kicking myself for it.

Wow... A few serious buyer/looker here. Good luck w/ purchase. As many said, if the PPI checks out, it's a good buy.
