Default For comp purposes: 18" Fikse FM-10 wheels

I sold a set of Fikse FM-10 wheels, 8x18 and 10x18, ET 51F/63R, race satin/anodized centers and polished lip. Center caps included. Used for three track sessions. No curb rash and in excellent shape. Sold for $2,700, which I think was a decent price for the buyer.

Mark-

Thanks for the comp! I have an identical set and LOVE them so I would be hard pressed to part with them, but you never know as life has a way of changing.

Patrick, I've gotten back into mountain bike racing after a twenty year hiatus, so I don't know how many PCA races I'll do this year.

As another data point I just purchased the Fikse profil 10 which is very similar for $3800 shipped from Fikse. The outer rim was custom ordered in race satin instead of polished. The profil 10 is almost identical but has straighter spokes and a small center pad to allow for more brake caliper room.
Love them. I'd say $2700 is very fair

I thought $2700 was fair. I bought them from Mark. They'll go on my Guards Red'97 C2 Coupe this weekend.

It was an easy sale, and I didn't have to deal with boxing them up and shipping. Forgot to add that in the original post.

Post photos when they're on the car!

They look great on your car (how could they not?)! Still need to find one of the valve caps for you.

More than a couple of the usual mtb races here, finally closed the doors after many years of small fields. There have been some mtb stage races here in Central NY this summer, that's new. A few team mates/buddies are doing the 100K stuff, travelling all over the country for some series. A couple of them will do Leadville again this year.

My bike fitness sucks, but my beer fitness really shines. Been trying to ride the mtb after concentrating on the road since 09, always loved the woods. Been raining about 5 out of 7 days here since May, most trails are pure ****. I volunteer maintaining two city parks with singletrack trails in them. The recent massive flooding we had here, almost completely destroyed one of them. Volunteers with hand tools can't fix this, we'll need equiptment.

Anyway, starting to find time to pedal again recently, getting ready for cross season.

The rain, and work, have killed my training for the past two weeks. I need to get another set of wheels so I can mount old tires to my Stumpjumper for road riding. I very much prefer riding a mountain bike on the road as opposed to a road bike. I'm supposed to do a race next weekend and am just not on form but will do it anyway since it'll be good for fitness.

Value is determined by historical trends as determined by what the market has been willing to pay in the past. The Fikses that I sold in this thread were purchased new by me and had only one track weekend on them, if I recall correctly. Certainly not every circumstance is the same; the buyer of my wheels got a very good deal for almost brand-new rims.
