The "horror" of RWB
Had the good fortune to visit the HRE wheel manufacturing facility this weekend during their annual open house.
More Lambo's present than I've ever seen other than that big Ferrari meet @ Monterey. Most of them with HRE wheels installed.
This orange Diablo was my favorite.
The "chrome" 993 didn't do it for me.
Maybe if it had a better wing?
One local had several of his cars on display. I asked him if his 993 turbo was a 96 or 97. He said, " that's the 96, the 97 is @ home"!
GACK!

Those RWB cars look like they are out a video game... gut it, add about 500 hp and then maybe that is justified.

Craig,
Bummer I missed you at the show. I was pounding around with a few other people between 11:15 until about 1:30.
If it was black I would really dig it, but the chrome is... not to my taste. Whoever owns it probably loves his car though, so kudos to him for picking a unique color combination.
I just about had to change pants after they revved the F40 up in the shop

Sorry I missed you.
Maya and I were there noon - 1:30.
Mostly amazing milling / lathe centers eh?
pretty sure that is a mylar wrap.
no way they would plate / polish / chrome the ferrous sheetmetal, unless they are a middle eastern sheik!

Glad I didn't burn my retinas by going!
On the subject of Ferraris, I was chatting with Bill S at Carlsbad a couple of weeks ago. He drove the Enzo, Vida drove the CGT. Always funny to see the crowd migrate their way.
Their F40 has been in the shop for 9 months in OC, but he was supposed to get it back soon. He's purchasing an F50 to go with it. The shop in OC is/was going through it. Nice set!!

The worst is they go to all that trouble to "build" the RWB car.....and leave the washer nozzles just sitting there. Makes me think of this bicycle powered, tape and foil creation (google tin foil porsche):
