When installing, did they pull off the outer windshield seal, put the clearplex on, and then re-install seal or is it trimmed with a razor blade right along side of the seal? Just wondering if they are cut a little big to be trimmed or the edges are "tucked in/under" the seal.

The Cayman seal is different than the 993 so I can't answer that question unfortunately.

I just had the clearplex installed on my 993 a few months ago and can share my experience. It's virtually invisible from the outside, but I notice an ever so slight distortion from the inside in certain light. If you look at the windshield you can see it, if you look through the windshield you can't, if that makes sense. It's trimmed a millimeter from the gasket. There's a special lubricant that is applied - wipe on, dry, wipe off - every couple of months depending on how often it's wet. There's no problem with the wiper on the film even when I accidently swiped when it was dry. I have an older rock hit that was repaired and a few smaller nicks and the film doesn't hide them. I haven't tested it with a rock hit yet, but if it saves a windshield replacement its worth it and should be on everyone's priority list. Any other questions, just ask. Hope this helps.

Since their site on fitments is EXTREMELY clunky (for Porsches, anyway), how about we confirm the 993 fitment is good for all 911s from Day One through the 993? I can't see why it wouldn't be, but you know it might help drive sales...........

Looks like my total will be $429.84, and I'll get it sent out soon. Ship at your leisure.

Make sure to provide the year of your 993. The 1995 version is slightly different. Thanks in advance for your support!

I had Clearplex put on my windshield last year when I had it replaced. I'm very happy with it and really don't notice any difference from clear glass. Last weekend though, while running around eastern WA in 993Fest, my wife couldn't wear her polarized glasses because she said it made the view kind of "psychedelic". I checked it out and it looked like some kind of like a prismatic moire effect that moved when you moved your head. Kind of distracting, so if you have to wear polarized lenses, you might want to check it out first. I wear transitions lenses and haven't noticed this at all.
