Anyone interested in a group buy? (Assuming PA would offer group pricing--the RL retail price is $215 with shipping). Link to their ad: https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...autowerks.html

I'd be in for a group buy ASAP. Cracked my windshield at NJMP last weekend.

Will this do much for the pitting that is present in most of our factory original windshields at this point? If so, I'm in.

Brian: I had the same question. In reading that thread I linked to, I understand that the film won't fix anything--just help protection against further pitting, etc. I plan to ask one of those windshield repair outfits if they can fill in the bigger pits/chips before I apply the film. My gut tells me that would work out well.

I am fine with a group buy! Last one needed 10 buyers for the $199 price. I am happy to do that again!

Yes, DIY. It looks relatively easy.

That would be my concern...This has the potential to make sunroof felt replacement look simple.

I've applied film to my home windows and the Targa's headlights. The windows were cake. The headlights were easy, but required little more effort because the glass is slightly curved. I imagine the windshield would be close to the headlights on the difficulty scale.

Yes this is a DIY. The Clearplex Windshield Film is already shaped to your particular Porsche. The install kit is included. I have included the install video on a few links on the forum. You can also go to Clearplex.com to view. These kits are over 20% off Clearplex website MSRP pricing and come directly from Clearplex.

I think I talked to the company at SEMA a couple of years ago. These guys out of Utah/Mountain states?

I can use two, one for my new windshield on the 4S and one to help protect the halfway decent windshield on the yellow car whenever I get it back out on track again............

Stating the obvious, if these are cut for 993s they will also fit all the earlier cars? (Not that doing a windshield on a pre-993 is very expensive or difficult.)

Clearplex is a good product! Watched them install one on a Cayman at Tech Tactics in February, once done you couldn't tell it's there.
