Default Crank Handle for Power Seat (Emergency Operation)

This is the Crank Handle for Power Seat (Emergency Operation) Porsche part # 928.521.907.02

Does anyone know where this tool goes to manually move the seat?
I checked for a female hex fitting for the tool but cannot find one.
I've replaced the flex rods from the motor to the seat gear transmission and the seat will still not move.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Are you sure its a hex?
If I'm remembering correctly, the seat movement uses a square bit.
Remove the adjusting cable / shaft, insert the square bit and turn to adjust the seat.
There are L & R sides for each seat, so your seat may be jammed on the slide rail if the seat wasn't moved evenly on both sides.
Hope this helps. Howard

I believe this tool is for manual operation of the sunroof not the seat.

Here's the Pelican parts listing but no pic.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Inf...20Operation%29

and on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EXCELLENT-GE...7d8f3e&vxp=mtr

I have this exact tool in my tool bag with the hex end, I know the seat flex shaft has a square fitting,
but is there another fitting under the seat that may have a flex fitting for this tool to fit?
This seat issue is driving me crazy...

How to use crank is in the owners manual on page 74. You have to access motor through the zipper in headliner that is forward of the rear window, remove a screw and insert crank.

I can't see the pic behind the firewall here at work. Is this what you're looking for? Pic from another RL thread.

That looks like the one, however, my car doesn't have that fitting. To solve the issue with my passenger seat I used a vise grip and turned the gear rod under the seat and got it unstuck, everything works fine now.

If you end up needing any seat parts, I have a whole bunch. Motors, cables, etc.

Bumping this old thread - it appears that both seats have had the "manual adjustment" trashed on my car - The passenger side has the above adjuster for the crank, but half the teeth are broken off. The driver side is missing the alan head insert for the crank altogether. Both seats are centered front to back and I'm not able to get to the 6 alan heads, nor adjust the seats for and aft... (non-functional power seats). Any tips on how to resolve this issue to get the seats out and replacement parts/after-market seats installed? I've searched both here and PParts but seem to come up short. New to the platform and seeking assistance over this hurdle. My owners guide simply says "insert tool and crank" which makes perfect sense if the parts actually existed and or had not been missing teeth. Thoughts on next steps/replacement parts and what they'd be called? (1988 911 - fyi - only thread I could find on the topic - above pics look the same as my seats)

Following up as I was able to get my seat out... after much effort.
Tools:
2 drills (drill bits kit)
Philips head
6mm alan
18MM wrench - only used for additional leverage
Small torch (to heat alan heads to soften factory lock tight)

For a failed 88' 8-way power seat (drivers) that has damaged manual adjuster:
1. Remove the front plastic panel covering the front of the seat base
2. Remove "paperclip" that wraps around the motor top and L/R sides of the motor around the black tubes that hold the driveshafts
3. Remove the clip behind the left side driveshaft tube (black tube, clip pushes back similar to a circlip) this will allow pulling driveshaft out of the motor gearbox, pulling to the right until it's free
4. Pull left driveshaft out of the motor gearbox
5. Pull both driveshaft tubes forward and away from the seat - the drive shafts themselves are free within the tubes so don't pull them out, just move the tubes so you can get both drills in the foot well.
6. Mount 1/4 inch of the drive shaft square end into the tip of the drill (both sides - one in each drill)
7. Set one drill to forward and the other to reverse. Now VERY SLOWLY, while pushing towards the seat to engage the gearing at the end of the shafts... rotate each side at the time/speed and observe the direction of seat travel. I started by going back first.
8. With the seat all the way back, see the 2 alan heads exposed in the seat track... both of mine had been TOTALLY stripped and required being drilled out...
9. Once the front alans are out, reverse the directions of both drills and move the seat all the way forward to expose the 4 alan heads in the back.
10. (AT YOUR OWN RISK) > Light your torch bottle and adjust to a small pencil tip flame. VERY CAREFULLY put the flame on the head of each of the bolts back and forth on one side for about 20-30 seconds to heat the bolt head up.
11. Insert your 6mm and then put the round side of your 18mm on the alan for additional leverage and very slowly apply pressure to break the bolt loose.
12. Repeat 11. for the other side - the seat should now be free.
13. Tilt the seat back and find a gold plate held with 2 Philips heads - pull those and unplug the switch harness.
14. Unplug seatbelt receiver harness
15. Pull the super heavy seat out - open a beer and celebrate your accomplishment.

Hope that helps someone else!
