To each their own-you made your point twice about doing what you want. There were simply comments made here that a rear spoiler on a Porsche does serve a purpose.

I carefully recorded the conditions and their effect on the car's operating temps.

Over a period of almost ten weeks in ambient temperature conditions ranging from the mid-80s to almost 100 degrees and highway drives ranging from 10 to 150 miles, the difference between conditions 1, 2 and 3 above were negligible.

Worst case, it doesn't work out and I'm out a few hundred bucks for parts and such. I'll just put the stock lid back on a plug it back up.

That said, this isn't about proving anything to anyone. I cut my teeth on street rods in the 60s and just think it would be fun to take a shot at creating a look that is a little different. I've found a local rod shop that's interested in working on the project so we'll see what happens.

Terry

Good point. But a few of the purposes are either obsolete or not needed by all.
SAI
Rear wiper
Wheel locks
Cassette holder
Immobiliser
Speed of deployment for spoiler

If a person mostly drives below deployment speed, is the spoiker needed?

Yeah, my initial response was to the OP's request for info and my second was to JPP's comment on the cooling function of the spoiler....You made your point about the rear spoiler on a Porsche having a function three times...So, technically, you're one up on me, but is it really such a big deal?
