Extra long four post lift recommendations
Hi all,
I hope everyone is enjoying Memorial Day.
I'm finally planning on taking the leap! I'd love to find one which has posts that are about 220" apart - best fit for the garage, least intrusive placement of posts. The Bendpak HD-9XW has only 198" between them. I also need wide (116.75" is about perfect) and desire tall for my high ceilings. Any recommendations?
thanks for any insights!

do a search - there have been several threads on lifts.
I have a Pro 9F from Greg Smith - its a large 9000 lb lift - and I modified it to be extra wide (another 14" if I remember - its been years) by extending the balance cables as to allow for easier door opening and having the arms (which are quite long) fit the 993 well. If you do not know how to do that, then either get a professional or keep the lift stock.
Cheers,
Mike

DIY service was my need and not 2 in 1 storage, so I settled on the MaxJax 2 post lift.
Big positive, makes working on wheels/brakes much easier then a 4-post, with same clear access underneath as 4-post to drive train. Same reason I didn't go with a scissor lift. Already did a starter replacement with ease. And easy out of the way storage (but so far I have left in place). Initial downside is floor / anchor prep for MaxJax compared to 4-post (just sits on floor), but once done, not an issue.
Getting in and out drivers door has to be done carefully, but beyond that 1 slight downside, it meets all of my DIY needs for basic service needs. Being able to pull all 4 wheels at once has been a big time saver for DE maintenance.
