Default Mods that are easy to reverse?

Thanks all for the information.

I'm buying a NB that needs to either remain in or be easily restored to original condition. That being said, I plan to drive the car and am going to install the motorsound airbox cover and euro tail lights.

Thinking about a HID kit and led interior lights.

Any other recommendations or arguments against the HID and LED mods?

Low friction door stop maybe?

Also, anybody in love with their iPhone / smartphone mount?

And any easily reversed mini jack or Bluetooth integration recommendations?

This'll be my third '97 993. I put 80k miles on a Black Targa and then had a White Targa for a few years that was eaten by the GFC. Psyched to be getting an as-new condition coupe. And looking forward to driving a 993 after a 996 and 997 4S. The last analog 911.

Thanks.

JD

HID bulbs are a MUST if you drive at night. Standard headlights were the pits.

I agree with mods that can be easily & quickly undone. Making my white Targa monochromatic was one of the changes.

Body-wise, the black rubber piece at the rocker panel visually raises the height of the side. I just saw a 993 Targa with a side skirt that lowers the look of the body. Need to research that piece.

Next change will be a redone ECU.

When making changes, keep the original parts.

Nice looking Targa! I particularly like the body color bumper guards.

Okay, just ordered the HID and LED kits from Bergville. I was poking around for the factory chrome exhaust tips that originally came with the Motorsound package and it looks like they've become either unobtainable or really expensive. Does that sound about right?

Mathfuzzy,

X2 on the HID and LED Lights - Tore from Bergville F/X has both kits with a modest discount for us Rennlisters.

You can purchase the wide oval exhaust tips from Carnewal for about $650. See the attached link:

http://www.carnewal.com/products/P93...l-Exhaust-Tips

Another inexpensive mod which you can always reverse are the turbo "s" scoops. Lighter, brighter, and better looking than the old foggy fog lights. Form and function:

Fister Stage III's make our 993's sound the way they should - buy a pair of Bishoffs or Gillets and keep the stock mufflers in the basement with your old foglights! Darin and the guys at FB Motorsports are a pleasure to work with, and they also have some great exhaust tips if you want to go all black.

Good luck, and have fun with it!
