Ed, the M718 code was given to all early production, US spec 993s. It is not a ROW car. ROW cars had G50/21 gearbox, no SAI pump, no bumperettes, no basket handle among other things.

Agreed, I shouldn't have used the ROW, but they were MY94 cars that were imported into the US and sold as the first '95's in the states. Since there technically wasn't a '94 sold in the US, it .......has ...........to....be.....something??

Yup.

I've never understood the obsession with model year in North America. Selling "next year's" car in January is ridiculous IMO. Cars sold in Europe are sold and advertised from their 1st registration date which is VERY close to their production date in most cases ( as always, there are exceptions to the rule). Makes more sense to me as many manufacturers make running changes throughout the year.

Mine is late '94 build (November), and came with basket handle (surgically removed), OBD1, 16" rims (long since replaced), and no immobilizer.

Gordo
It was a very heavily optioned car when new, the only part that is original now is the main chassis, gauges and ABS/ABD

Check the "Post yer VIN" thread. I'd bet you have to be near the top.

all the '95s are OBD1, early ones use the round OBD1 connection, later ones use the trapezoidal OBD2 connection but are still OBD1

Yours is the same build month as mine, immobilizer and/or the remote fob must have been optional.

it would be interesting to have Leland's list updated w/ heat config/OBD connector/basket handle/immobilizer w/ remote/immobilizer w/o remote
mine would be
1995/1426/July 94/late heat/OBD2 connector/basket handle/immobilizer w/ remote
