Early vs late '95

Porsche admits to 3 production version of the '95 993, but there were may running changes that were introduced at various times,
production version 1, Dec 21 1993 to Jan 26 1994 vin 996SS320073 to 992SS320281 except 4 test vehicles 994SS320203, 993SS320225, 998SS320270, 991SS320272 which are prod ver 2
production version 2, Jan 25 1994 to Feb 10 1994 vin 994SS320282 to 993SS320418 + the 4 test vehicles mentioned above
production version 3, from Feb 10 1994 to the end of the '95 MY production run vin 995SS320418, 990SS320456, 99XSS320478 on
things that changed were suspension components, heat/fresh air arrangement, basket handle, options
mine was a July 1994 build so was production version 3, it had basket handle updated heat/fresh air, immobilizer, loose 2nd gear
Leland Pate started a thread years ago w/ peoples build dates, can't remember if it included build differences or not, maybe some di and some didn't

That's good info Bill, thanks.
I thought no early build cars had the immobilzer.....is yours like the later "drive-block" version with FOB and all?

Former Vendor
Mine was built 5/95 and has fob, drive block, newer heat/air, loose 2nd gear & no basket handle.
I was told the 96 builds started late June 95 and crossed over for a week or so with the 95's which is why some of the 95 cars had OBDII connectors with OBD1 installed.

i will repeat again... I swear all these 95s have immobilizers, they have different types... the first types were activated when the doors were locked, by key b/c they don't have a fob. But when your red lights are blinking on the door, in alarm on mode, your car's immobilizer is on.
We really should be saying Fob or no-Fob.
The 2nd type immobilizer computer that operates via Fob is a different setup that some people end up having sync issues with and ultimate failures, bye bye $1000+ USD.
