I searched in regards to this, but couldn't find an answer. My 95 has a creak right at the end of the door swinging open on both doors if you open them slowly. I checked the door straps, ant they are perfect. I also cleaned off all the hinges, and lubed them up but it doesn't seem to help much. Is there a remedy for this? It's kind of annoying as I'm an **** retentive type.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The sound may be metal flexing in the pillar or the door fascia where the strap is located. If so the remedy for this is to remove the check strap from the door, pry it apart and shave the rubber friction pads so when reassembled the forces are lowered on the rod during its travel. If done before the flexing causes the strap mount to fail you will not need to have the strap mount fixed in the future a $300 A Pillar repair body job. This is a weak spot on all pre 996 911s way back to the beginning.

Here you go, I did this a few years back and the noise hasn't returned since
Hi there is a rubber tube (for drainage from something) that can cause a squeak. I believe you can see it with a flash light on the very front of the door as you open it (between the door and front fender). Keep looking it is there, just put a little grease on it and it will stop squeaking!

JZ is correct. This is the origin of the noise,

Awesome, thanks guys. I'll try it out and see how it goes. I'm just trying to remedy all the little things on the car. Last night I fixed the rattling glove box latch, and cleaned/ lubed the clutch and brake assemblies under the floor boards...man was it dirty down there!

No DIY I know of. But it is very simple. Just pop the pin on the end of the check strap where it attaches to the yoke on the A-Pillar remove the little bolts holding it on the door. I seem to recall you will loosen the inside door panel to reach up inside the door to get the strap unit out from the inside. When you put it back in use some thread locker on the bolts. I do recall the bolts tend to keep loosening up otherwise. If it is just the tube rubbing as outlined in the above post none of this is necessary.
