The Fabspeed airbox and the reusable K&N filter are available if anyone cares to make me an offer.
Just keep in mind that Porsche uses BMC filters from the factory for the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 airboxes...

Default airbox holes

I did something similar to E30m3.
I drilled holes in the factory airbox cover where the oem plastic dimple markers are, using a larger diameter than the Motorsound option. Over the front funnel lip, I glued "bright chrome plastic" door edge molding. To the uninitiated, and to some who are, it looks almost the same as the real deal.
Sound difference? I have B&B headers(previous owner) and Fister III's, so I'll never know!

What about the Home Depot DIY ram air proposed earlier here on Rennlist, has to be good for a few horses.

I ordered one of these from Fabspeed and paid for express shipping so I could get it before my appointment with the dyno. The airbox cover didn't ship for a week so I just canceled the order. When I first ordered it, I thought it was made from actual CF, I'm kinda glad I canceled it, I would have been upset when I got the cover and found out it was "fake" CF. I would have had to paint the part, I can't stand that kind of fake stuff.

I finished the ends off with mesh. I figure it's a dress-up part unless someone proves that wrong. I may paint mine black; the faux carbon is just ok.

Smile I had a Fabspeed ...

...airbox and K&N filter. It did amplify the Varrioram 5,000 RPM sound. If truth be told, I got tired of oiling the K&N, so I went back to stock...well sort of. I added the intake snorkel from a 993 Turbo....it is possible because I have a fixed tail and deleted the tail raising/lower mechanicals.

The only way to verify any HP improvements would be a back to back dyno pull with the Fabspeed VS stock filter. I am certain this data is available somewhere. For $200, I wouldn't expect miracles.
