Got my LEDs from the link provided by nile13. Took as he said about 2 weeks
to arrive from Shanghai, China. I ordered 4 but received 8. Thanks Tommy ****!
Good thing he tossed in some extras cause I shorted out the first one in the
engine compartment as I inserted it back into the lid. Made sure to take out the
fuse after that until I got them in.
The little light under the front hood did never ended to shine, even when i closed the hood.
I took the connection apart, where the lock is, and now even the interior light works well again!! (inside the coupé)
This little light under the hood has cost me two new expansive batteries...
Seems like such a common problem with the light in the trunk it may be best to take the bulb out of the trunk and replace it with a battery LED stick-up light. The stock light doesn't really illuminate the trunk anyway.

One trick that I've learned from Andreas a couple years ago - when working on the car with either front hood or rear engine cover open, you can push down on the latch with your hand or with a screwdriver until it clicks and latches down. As if the hood or engine cover are closed. The lights will go off. To unlatch them back after the work is done, simply pull on corresponding release lever from inside the car. Much easier than other solutions.
I also use this method suggested by the wise old clock-maker.....
Especially when the battery is hooked to the trickle charger. You just need to remember to unlatch again before closing the hood.
Isn't the trunk light on a timer? I thought it was....
I have the bright white/"morgue" version. Same I put in another Porsche many years ago. I like the brightness. At the end of the day, my interior lights are on for a short time, and having the extra light when getting in or out of the car, is welcome. I'd say they are not obtrusive, however, but rather practical. What you may expect in a newer car. More so in the front boot or in the engine compartment.
This is the seller, he's been on ebay for years. I don't know if this is the latest technology, but I've been happy in two cars. Works in interior and under the lids:

Do you need the 44mm ones in all locations or a mix of sizes?
The trunk light, engine light and 2 interiors lights are all the same.
Mine are described as "2X 41mm Car Interior 12 LED 3528 SMD Light Warm White Festoon Dome Lamp Bulb"
From another thread, I think I would try B8.4D-AHP (amber) for the dash
guages from superbrightleds.com.
