Hello Guys,

I managed to strip the rear control arm spindle shaft so now I'm kind of hopped. I was able to get the control arm off the car by cutting the bolt off with a dremel and cutoff wheel but that almost meant that I damaged the treads on the spindle shaft.

Is there a way to replace just the spindle shaft or do I need to fork out the cash for a brand new control arm?

I have seen bushing kits,but no reference to the ball joint. Are you talking about the A-arm,or one of the other arms. I probably have an extra lower control arm.

It's the rear lower control arm, the one that attaches through the bottom of the shock and then to the eccentric bolt by the sway bar mount. Does that make sense?

Yeah, makes perfect sense. I actually have a pair of those sitting on my workbench. The ball joints seem pretty good on both. Shoot me a PM if you are interested in one.

Is the ball joint replaceable? Or do I have to swap the whole control arm?

 

Swap the whole arm - they are a single unit.
