A great product from a great group of guys and not to mention a nice improvement over stock. Mark recommended pulling the entire sha-bang out by removing the shifter "guide pipe" and unbolting both ends. It was much easier than working on everything under the car. The guide pipe must be removed anyway, easy peasy.
Thanks to Scott B. for lending a hand.

Since I did both GR and SSK, I think there is an improvement enhance by more of a mechanical feel. The throw difference isn't as dramatic as I would have expected although the gating is much more precise. My original shift rod bearing body wasn't deteriorated so I think it was doing it's job as intended.

Does it affect in any way how the shifter **** fits back onto it? As shown in the pic above there is a cut / relieved area at the top of the shifter that would be lost when taking an inch or so off. Did you "re-notch" the rod after trimming it down?
