Must have been. Maybe the threaded shift pattern disc was coming loose and Porsche changed the design to eliminate having to thread the disc and add hardware ..

Could be. I also noticed that the carbon fiber on the bottom of the shift **** you have wraps around the edge where on mine it is cut flush.

Mine recently became loose and is rattling after high heat. Glue must not be able to stand up to the heat and expands.

What did you guys use to punch the glued tops? Also, how hard did you push? I am having trouble getting mine off.

I just used a long punch and a dead blow hammer. A couple of hits and it was off.

I also used a slim punch and a hammer. Silicone goop worked great in the spaces to TOTALLY eliminate any rattling. Still rattle free 3 months later. My shift pattern had a recessed hole but no screw. BTW: clean out the gunk inside the shifter that would obstruct the shift lever from seating completely on reinsertion. Here's a shot of the new shift boot--looking great!!!

Got mine apart. Has a threaded hole but no screw! Something "screwy" here with these *****!
