Yes the comparison is in the thread.

The exterior might look different but (pry the cap off a solid Corteco mount) they are both using rubber to isolate the engine from the chassis.

I just picked up a 5" diamond cutoff wheel so if somebody has an old engine mount we could saw it in half. A bandsaw might work better but I don't have one at the moment.

Thanks to Harold, I "pulled the trigger" on a set of the CORTECO's for our '95 and just got through installing them...only a couple of hours and no problems. You'd think that, even though it's 18 years old, a low-mileage car wouldn't need new engine mounts but, every once in a while, I noticed slightly vague shifts and, at the last oil change, when I jacked up the rear, the muffler tips raised up as well, alarmingly close to the rear valence. Now, while raising and lowering, they barely move. Great solution for not a lot of money!

well, Hoosier R6 and Mickey Thompson Bajas are both tires and both made of rubber, but are they really the same?

These CORTECOS are definitely a different construction from the stock mounts. They aren't oil-filled and the protruding bolts deflect much less than the old units. As for the durometer of the rubber, I haven't a clue.

I just installed Corteco's from Pelican on Saturday. Made a huge difference in my handling/shifting. Shifting into 1st from 2nd on decel was near impossible before but also shifting from 1st to 2nd improved in accel is smooth like I have not felt since I bought it last summer. I am happy and for the price was good choice. Once I get to know the car, maybe I will want different mounts, but for me and for the $$, the Corteco's are a win. (BTW: Mfr'd in Czech Republic)

bought these from pelican

993-375-049-09-M270 $91.50 2 $183.00
Engine Mount (2 per car, sold individually), 993 Carrera 4 (1995-98),
993 Turbo (1996-97) Brand: Corteco

but the box say rein automotive. i also recently bought a set of WEVO blacks and now I have to decide which one to put on which car; either the 993 or 964.

These are made in the Czech Republic as well.

The WEVO blacks look much nicer than the ones from Pelican but at the cost of 315 vs 183.

Well, actually...I have put 997 GT3 RS mounts on my 993 and they look like the Corteco's as shown on the pics.

Best regards,

Marco

Ps I know the 964/993 RS mounts look totally different...

If anyone is curious about the internals, I took one of the OE hydraulic mounts apart.
