They are basically the same - Porsche supply a 'fender joining plate' which effectively converts a NB to WB - Pt number 993 503 331(2) 00. This is the bottom flare to match the WB rockers. The internal liners are different to match the front PU & rear rocker flare.

If you've got a set of ready done Turbo fenders it's an easier option for sure!

Angry Possible problem noted- side cowls

Extending the cowls for a cleaner, smoother look may cause a problem when you put down the top. You can see this on original Speedsters as the fiberglass tend to hit the folding top mechanism and break. Lengthening the cowls will surely make this problem worst so test it out first to check clearence. I owe a speedster and this is a known problem.

"Not sure about the Speedster cabriolet top because it is different from the C2 top...I've seen conversions though using the regular cabriolet top and if you do a search on past builds they can be more specific on the differences between the two and what needs to be done to get a functional top. For our purposes, it didn't matter since I am not using the top and getting rid of it altogether."

No top, no problem?

Who do you owe the Speedster to?

Quick Q?

Did your body shop do any of the under car bracing as per the 9M builds?

Or is Colin the master of overkill in this case? I can't seem to remember if JP's factory/dealer WB car had the bracing added or not?

^^^ mine did not. That's why the entire rear quarters and bulkhead were stressing themselves apart .... But 9m fitted all of it, factory correct along with 9m's longitudinal stiffeners, now she's tight like a tennis ball

Full Boost...yes chassis stiffness is being addressed.

Nick...I hope you are doing well. Yes...builds are coming along...wide body SL65 is 75% done, 997tt cab was just finished, GT-R is going through it's 3rd upgrade, and I'm working on getting a donor car for either an RWB (please purists don't throw too many rocks at me) or a 1970 240z resto mod. Life is too short not to enjoy our passion for cars. PS...the Baby Hammer is getting a lot of miles as my daily...I love this car (THANK YOU). The interior is up next for restoration...

phastlipp....I'll see what parts are lying around at the body shop.

Morning,

I was looking at your pictures and was woundering how will you do the metalwork so the new speedsterscreen fits the body?
Looks like you cut up the windowframe.....or did I see wrong

I stumbled onto the screen first and that started my dream of getting my own retro look Speedster :-)

Been lucky and found various orginal speedster parts for my project and will start a new tread when Im getting started.
Looking forward for more stories and pictures.

The 993 Speedster project back from the body shop...now interior tear down and removal of engine and transmission (going to Rennsport Systems). This was a 1997 C2 cab...now with Turbo wide body...once tear down is complete it will go back for final paint
