The be jenniskens solution appears to be a good one. I contacted the guy and it comes now even with Obd 2 cable for the later cars. It is supposed to have at least the functionality of the factory tools. At some point, I will go for it but was fine for a generic solution. However. Being able to cycle the ABS pump would have bin a great help to get air out of it vs their notion on/off method

I have the gopoint bt1 and it works great, it has it's own apps that yoy can download free from the apple app store, It also works with Harry's Lap timer which shows realtime g forces, engine data like horse power, torque, engine temp erc... Higly recommend!
