Nice find and great car. The CA smog palaver sounds a nightmare. So glad no such thing here!

Congratulations! Did you read about the extremely steep and non-avoidable slippery slope?
All stock with 53,000 miles eh? - shocks next! (sorry, could not resist).
Cheers,
Mike

Mike, yes I read every word about the targa top on your pcarworkshop site so I considered myself warned
But heck, if it's not that or the valve guides or the clutch or the bushings or the shocks....what I learned is that repairs can be expensive on these cars and I included that as part of my purchase decision. Thanks for sharing all your information, it helped with my decision.

Chris,
Congrats on a beautiful find!
Just stay connected to the RL forum and you'll find many ways to spend your money (as Mike J. noted) as well as some DIY projects to save you the cost of labor.
The targa is a wonderful platform and works well in CA, where you can enjoy all those sunny days with the top down.
There's also a few of us (Mike included) that have worked extensively on these tops. If you learn some basic maintenance, and replace any worn seals, trim, etc. your targa top can last a long ways. I just did a complete service on my friends top (replace all wearable seals) and he's top is quiet and runs smoothly.
