Clutch Pedal
Driving out of a parking lot after dinner easily and upon making the 1-2 upshift something under the floorboard popped/snapped and clutch pedal effort increased. Sounded like a spring popping and whatever it was rattled a bit then no further noise. Trans still shifts fine but detent at top of travel is gone and though consistent the effort is much higher and much greater pedal release pressure. Anybody have any ideas? I'll need to open it up and look for anything obvious but suggestions are appreciated.

At that point, you can check the individual items (6, 7, 13 and 16) that may be related to your problem. While in there, check to see if you have the updated lever (9).

On my old 1986 911 I had the same thing happen... it was the clutch helper spring that broke. Same symptoms, clutch worked, but much more effort required. It's under the car on the clutch pivot shaft.
I don't know if they had something similar on a 1990 911.
