Default Pedal Assembly Floor Board - Removal

I'm in the process of replacing my master and slave clutch cylinders and having read a post recently about someone was having trouble removing their Pedal Assembly Floor Board, I thought I'd post a simple how-to.
  • remove the Push Button at the rear of the driver's side floor Carpet that holds it in place and remove the Carpet
  • remove the carpet on the Floor Board; it is held on with Velco and located by a metal tabs at the top left and top right
  • pull the Accelerator Pedal off its ball joint; it snaps out of its ball socket in the pedal
  • pivot the Accelerator Pedal towards the rear of the car
  • remove the two screws along the bottom of the Floor Board and one behind the Accelerator Pedal
  • lift the Floor Board slightly along its plane and press down on the Sound Absorber padding where it meets the Floor Board
  • lift the bottom edge of the Floor Board so that it is horizontal as in the pic below
  • lift the Floor Board straight up through the Pedal Assembly

Removal was so easy, that if the Pedal Board were made of metal and you connected a DMM on continuity-beep between the Pedal Assembly and the Floor Board, you couldn't get it to go off.

good sharing. I found it easy because there is only one way you can fiddle it out.

Nice stuff and I guess one can always install the Porsche carpeting over them for that original look. My board is rock solid (no water/moisture damage), so all I might do is take some black semi-transparent stain to it.

As an aside, just last night I found a 2nd location of the use of plywood in our luxury, premium sports cars.
The rear seat seatbacks are made of plywood.

I thought the process was pretty easy too. Snapping the ball back on the rod was a little tricky though.

I'm getting ready to do a full pedal/dead pedal/pedal board replacement with Rennline stuff. I have the parts but the instructions are a bit lacking.

Does the pedal board (the one Falcondrvr referenced) actually replace the wood board, or just go over it?

Also the clutch/brake/accel pedals all require removing the stock rubber covers, and then drilling each pedal to accept 2-4 screws and washers. However the RL pedal covers themselves aren't drilled so I can assume that I have to drill the holes through them and the actual pedals?

Thanks for any help. It's been a long time since I've done mods to a car and I hate screwing up.

I've found its less trouble to just mark the threaded accelerator rod, and then undo the lock nut. The rod threads right out and the ball stays in the pedal.

This way you don't have to deal with the ball socket

Another way to reconnect the 'pesky' accelerator rod is to clamp it with a pair of vise grip/locking pliers, dab some grease on the ball end: grip the pliers with fingers, thumb(s) on the pedal, & squeeze the two together.

In the DIY, this is the only PITA step that risks breaking something - ie., if the rod is placed to the cup, and the pedal pushed to the floor.
