The First Polar Silver Domino to fall in this exchange
I am the lucky buyer of Julien's Polar Silver 1996 C2. He sold it in order to purchase Nick's 993.
Years ago I had the (almost) twin to this car, the main difference is that the earlier car was a Carrera 4. As with all 993s that you sell, you always want to get it back. This is as close as I could get.
The first three photos are the C2 out in San Diego. The fourth picture is the 96 C4 on the shores of Buffalo Bill Reservoir just west of Cody, WY. The Absaroka Mountains are off in the distance.
Looking forward to seeing the car in person and getting behind the wheel soon.

This is a great community we have. this was a win, win, win. I couldnt be happier for my friend Julien, and it sure sounds like Bruce found a perfect car for him, and I'll finally get to do the hot rod 911 that's been tugging at me for a few years now.
Cheers,
Nick

This is what started the dominos falling. Julien sold his 993 to buy my C2S so I could buy this 72T which will be my R Gruppe hot rod. It will have ST flares, FG bumpers and a 2.5 L twin plug MFI motor. Wish me luck!!

I did the same thing. I was about to get my checkbook out then realized it was an old thread. Just shows the pricing slope these cars have experienced.

Take a look at all of the recent stolen 911 threads and the endless posts about having to fight with your insurer for better coverage. There is a dark side to a market like this.
That said, I'm happy to see it keep rising. I might actually get all my repair money back out of my high mileage NB coupe if the market stays this way.

There are certainly negative consequences with a market that has taken off like this, but this comment was directed at C2S owners. I am not sure what is bad for those owners in this market. I would assume most owners have built equity in these cars over this pricing cycle and for those who are becoming bearish could sell and profit (as this owner did). Then they buy on the low if the market turns. The market right now is bad for non-owners.

The rising tide floats all boats, and the majority (at least til now) of owners of 993's did not buy them for investment. This silly valuation brings a new breed of owner in, and will see a lot of perfectly fine cars tucked away in garages.
The silly posts on valuations on a TECHNICAL forum are boring.
