I sold a beautiful(!), completely maintained and documented, three owner, 96 tiptronic targa with high miles for $18k about a year and a half ago. I got a LOT of calls but not much serious interest until a broker bought it and shipped it back to Germany. This car is priced at about the market for the car IMO.

I know someone looking at a beautiful properly maintained and documented, 2 owner 96 tiptronic targa with high miles, red with a huge white "racing" stripe. Estimate the market for the car $15k, right?

You don't think this could be the same car, do you? I didn't think there would be that many '95 993s in the Tyler area???
I don't think that one was black

Since the tip knocks down the value of the car so much, anyone ever contemplated or know of someone who's done a conversion to a manual? Since all of the parts are readily available, it shouldn't be too difficult. Heck, someone more clever than I could possibly do it and flip the car and make a little money!

I don't think that it is cheap to do. LA Dismantlers has sold kits to convert. But by the time that you do it, you will need to price the car in the high 20's. And someone shopping in that price range will want it to be as stock or original as possible. In other words, would want to have original parts.

BTW, this ad seems legit to me.

Been there. Done that. I started to respond here but decided to start a new tiptronic to manual swap thread.
