Thanks for the compliments guys! I really, really like the color too! In real life it is just spectacular!!
Not much happened today but we did manage to install the windshield.
Tomorrow afternoon I will trailer the car to another local shop for 4-wheel alignment. And we will most likely install the doors and the hood too.
Tailbase, bumpers and fender flares are still waiting for paint. I don't want to rush my friend, as I want everything to be perfect. And you know how it is with pushing artists... it doesn't work like that...
Old windshield with new inner gasket:
After thorough cleaning and prepping with primer, on goes the adhesive. The shape of the nozzle (and the resulting bead) is VERY Important for a proper result.
And Voila! windshield in place:

Yep, I can't wait to see how it performs at Ahvenisto. And something I am really looking forward to is driving on the new Botniaring track!
They lengthened the track by 1400 meters so now the new track is over 4km!!!
There is a super sweet +200km/h left hand sweeper. The 993 with all the aero bits and grippy tires should be at home there!!
I was racing there in beginning of July but they hadn't opened the new part yet. Allthough there was new surface on the old part too (and slippery as f*ck).
I can't wait to get there!

P.S. You need to paint the cage too... The silver doesn't work at all now...

Tonight was trailer time. I took her to another local shop for 4-wheel alignment.
To my surprise the setup was not far off.
I wanted -3.0dgr camber up front and -2.8 in rear.
I ended up with abt. -2.7 front and -2.5 rear.
In front the top mounts were limiting the camber so I need to make more room for adjustment later on, but this will do for now.
In rear I could dial in more camber but then the Kinematic Toe was in the higher end of the scale and as far as I understand for a track car it should be towards the lower end of the scale...? So we left it to -2.5 for now.
I wonder what is in order to get more camber, yet keep the KT in check?
Also a little toe out in the front and toe in in the rear to make the car turn nicely.
Caster was a bit of surprise, it was less than 4dgr...? Wonder if it is due to pushing out the front hubs?
I also changed the motor oil + filters and put in the new, longer, oil cooler hoses. Time run out so brakes are going in later. (I have Girodisc floating fronts and PF 01 pads all around).

Awesome! You will probably get more camber when the car is assembled and at its completed weight, would recheck that alignment. KT is usually out the window with lowered cars from stock.

Hi Juha,
With steam-roller tires like yours, I'm betting your camber specs will be fine and you might even have to dial out a touch less. However, one never knows until you hit the track.

The car is so illegal in so many levels already that I don't want to pick my nose for blood with stuff that is too obvious...
We installed and adjusted the drivers door today. And with a precision of a brain surgeon, I slid in the guide tube for the gas tank filler lid wire. Should've done that before I installed the door, but it did work the other way around too. Only it took me abt. 1 hour and lots of cussing...
I also replaced the banjo copper caskets on the drivers side oil cooler. The ones I installed yesterday during changing the oil lines were too big and started leaking. I spent about 2 hours washing the oil away from the cooler cores and around the body... not fun but now it's clean and no more leaks.
