91 octane or better for me. I've mixed in 100 octane a few times. Car definitely runs better when it's mixed 50% 91 and 50% 100. I haven't tried 100% 100 Octane.

Slightly off topic, but when I raced my boosted Mazdaspeed MX5 (10 psi) I'd pour in 1 gal. of toluene per 4 gal. of premium. Butt/ear dyno said no knocking or pinging.
My younger friends think I was crazy for it, but the older track vets said it wasn't uncommon to do.
Would I do it to the 993? Nope. Happy with Cali's super high grade 91. Lol

I ran a bunch of "race gas" 98 octane last year. Did not notice a bit of difference.
It's like strapping a cheetah to the back of a cheetah. Just how much faster can you make it go?

That Agoura Hills station has the cheapest 100 in SoCal, or did, by 2 or 3 dollars/gal. I used to be up there a lot for work, and would get 10 gal for old Ruby each time I went.

It is a free country, anyone can put whatever gas they want in their car. I pretty much exclusively run Chevron Super. The car just seems to run better on it.
I used to use Shell super, when I first got the car, and was battling P0410 CEL, and rough idle. Since exclusively switching to Chevron and cleaning out the SAI ports, I haven't had any more P0410s and the car idles better. Was it cleaning the ports? Or is it the gas? Probably a bit of both, but for my peace of mind, I try to use Chevron Super if possible and occasionally a bit of 100 octane when I can get down to Huntington Beach.

Octane ratings are reported differently at the pump in Europe than they are in the US. Europe reports octane as RON at the pump and the US reports octane as (RON+MON)/2. Filling up with 95 octane gas in Germany is the equivelant of filling up with 90-91 octane in the US and filling up with 98 octane in Germany is the equivelant of filling up with 93-94 octane in the US. I've never seen a 93 octane pump in Germany which would be the equivelant of 87 in the US.

And for those in Seattle, race gas can be found at Thrasher's Corner Shell (Bothell). Just ask at the counter.
