Default Sexy Screw...

Now that I got your attention!

As part of the engine refresh, I am replacing most of the hardware with ARP twelve point screws that are black oxide treated. Many people have had their Allen socket cap screw round out or twist apart. I also used some washers that are black oxide in some places.

These screws are high quality!!!

How much do these cost? I usually replace the cover studs with stainless fasteners because they both look good and provide less galling/oxidation with the aluminum, but these also look cool and are coated. The only ARP products that I have used are around the rod bolts, but the do provide a very high quality product...

Cheers,

Mike

The screws shown have a large (washer size) flange built in. I did order some flat washers for places where I felt sliding surfaces were needed with the washer as opposed to rubbing up on fixed base components.

Price varies as to size and length, but some of mine were about $1.60 each. I may have bought $200 worth for the engine. They are 'over kill' as far as strength is concerned, but the cool factor is priceless!!!

I went another route and installed the factory studs back where they were in the 964 and earlier engines for the camshaft covers, cylinder heads to camshaft housing, intake manifolds, breather cap, oil cap with sensors, cylinder baffles, oil filter, etc.

I did use DIN 12.9 black oxide 12 point bolts for the rocker shafts rather than the stock internal hex bolts.
