The OEM stone guards are 12 mil (14 mil if you count the adhesive).

In another thread, he is offering them in 8 mil for $50, so at 12 mil, I would assume 50% more or $75. That would be the best price around.

I am still waiting for a response on availability of the guards in the 12 mil thickness and at what price.

That's pretty close to the pricing. I will have 993 stone guards in 8mil and 12mil by the end of next week! If you guys want to start reserving, PM me. I can't post price on the thread.

Gentlemen,
My apologies for the off topic post regarding soft German glass...

Mark, like you, I am dealing with a pitted windshield. I believe German glass pits far easier than US auto safety glass.

After searching, I am surprised that I was unable to locate any long running posts and recommendations on the subject; including alternatives to reinstalling the soft. procey, german OEM glass.

Default iris blue NBC 993

I would be interested in knowing my options. Clear and black could work but the currents are blue but badly cracked. I am assuming we are talking finder flare stone guards an not windshields.

Yes.....these are stone guards and not windshields. I will cut matte black vinyl as an option as well. You will need to purchase the stone guards in clear, then overlay the vinyl. I will list the "package" next week. It will consist of the 8mil clear film and the 4mil vinyl in matte black. This will give you the same thickness and protection as the 12mil oem clear film.

Does anybody know if there is a product out there for our hoods? I'm thinking the lower half, black (to cover the massive road rash that I have).

Any pictures of the black ones installed? I've seen a few over the years but the shape has never looked right. I'm concerned that if its exactly the same shape as the clear guards, they will not leave the right amount of space between the inside fender and the edge of the guard like the contrast surrounding the entire 80's style guards.

Absolutely, ever heard of clear bra's? (Xpel & 3M mfg the product) Full or partial protection is available for hood, fenders, front bumper, side mirrors...The list goes on...

I PM'ed the OP asking if any colors would be available in addition to clear and matte black, he replied that
colors are limited to 3M colors and stated they may not match Porsche factory colors well. I am specifically looking for Polar Silver, does anyone know if 3M makes a vinyl close or another source?

The clear ones will look much better. I wouldn't want the polar silver ones back.
