Agreed....Hella swap is the way to go. Much brighter light output with no blinding oncoming traffic.

After some work (see article).

Final pattern
Just re-read your Hella article in DIY...I will be needing this because I ordered the Micro DEs...something I should have done a long time ago.
Thanks for the great detailed DIY with nice pictures.

Does anyone know what degree Kelvin the MA Shaw lights are?

Which HID headlamp conversion bulb do they match in temperature and color?

Sorry, but I'm not sure your assumption is correct. That is, MA Shaw fog lights do NOT come as HID's. They are just a 55W halogen which is a Hella lamp like what you see in Mike J's DIY. When I purchased them from Ma Shaw, they came exactly with that lamp I showed in my picture.

If you were to change your fogs to HID's, then you should match them to the shade (degrees Kelvin) of your low beam HID's. I wouldn't change out just the fogs to HID's without upgrading your primary lamps.

So just to confirm. The MA Shaw version comes with the Hella fog light and is affixed properly?

thanks,

rob

Yes, that is correct. My Hella light assembly came mounted directly from Ma Shaw.

Not only is this Hella lamp more robust that the knock-off halogen lamps out there (i.e. water resistant and built better), but it's bulb can be replaced by an HID equivalent as a mere plug-n-play swap.

BUt please don't run the fog lights when it isn't foggy. You won't look cool, just like a tool.
