996 GT3 wheels....anyone put them on a NB 993?
One of our fellow 993 listers is selling a gorgeous set of 996 GT3 wheels. I didnt think they would fit on a NB 993, but in talking with him in his FS thread, he thought someone here had done it. Just curious if anyone here has done it and what tire size you went with?
Front Wheel Size: 18" x 8.5" 40mm offset
Rear Wheel Size: 18" x 11" 63mm offset
Thanks!

I also am looking for wheels for my 993 NB, during the search I came across a couple of 11" wide rear wheels and from my research / posts I believe you'd have to stay with a 10" rear wheel without fender modifications.
From my understanding stock / OEM fitment for 993 NB is:
Front 18 x 8" ET52
Rear 18 x 10" ET65

Benton's ET was 67. You'll definitely have to roll fo sho with ET 63.

Search RLer "Simpateko". He had them on his NB 993. Reading between the lines, sounds like fender rolling is required.

I'm not casting aspersions on any one but I've seen a lot of strange wheel fitment responses and have trouble reconciling them w/ my experience
here are some facts 10x18 ET65 which is an oe 993 n/b fitment w/ 265/35 tires is tight on both the inside and outside on a very low car, change to 285/30 tires and the fenders do need to be rolled.
11ET60 w/ the same 285/30 tire sits 14.7mm further out and 10.7mm further in than the above fitment.
You decide if it fits your car

^^^^Bill knows his stuff better than anyone here IMO. Just because a wheel looks like it fits doesn't mean it won't cause problems with suspension movement. A stock US/"SUV" height car driven 100% on the street may not rub. Lower the car and/or push it to its limits on track or auto-x and things change.
Keep in mind also that same-size tires in different models and brands are not the same size. There is significant variance between one manufacturer's 285-30/18 and another manufacturer's tire of the same size. There is even sometimes variance between different models of tire from the same manufacturer. Biggest tire on biggest wheel is likely cause for trouble.
Point of reference: My 97 C2 coupe, which was factory equipped with 10x18 ET65 hollow spoke wheels on the rear and sits on H&R springs/Bilstein HDs (quite a low setup), does not rub on 265/35-18 tires, at least not any I have run. It also does not rub when I ran 285-30/18 Sumitomo HTRZII rears, even when autocrossed. Same setup with 285-30/18 Sumitomo HTRZIII rears showed evidence of a slight rub (and I do mean slight). Tire width made the difference IMHO. Currently running Michelin Pilot Super Sports in stock sizes front and rear (225-40 and 265-35).
An 11" rear wheel on a NB 993 pushes the absolute limits of what's "doable" IMHO. And there will likely be some compromises needed (fender-rolling and/or less than ideal alignment settings).
