^^^A lot lighter. Carrera III's weight a couple pounds more a piece than the MY02's.

Jimbo, not sure how much the MY02s weigh, but I remember weighing mine before mounting tires. The fronts were about 22.5 and the rears were about 23.5 lbs.

Me too! LOL... After this thread I ventured on the halls of evilbay and scored a brand spanking new set for 610 bucks
Did not go on my 993 though, but on the other mistress and I think they look absolutely fantastic:

Great find. You stole them for 610 buckaroos.

On a similar note, I had a hankering for the 997 5-spoke styles, but decided to go with the 19" Carrera Classics for a different look. 11" ET67 in the rear, which required a fair amount of rolling to fit with 285/30R19s (YMMV with regards to fitment).

Thanks, Darin! It's pretty dirty there. The 19" wheels and rubber band tires make it look even lower.

looks awesome.... thought about those 19" too, but the ride is harsh/rough enough already with 18's. what is proper price for these wheels without tires?

Cheers guys; some have said it looks like a steamroller, but I rather like it! I was surprised to discover that the ride quality change was negligible. Of course, the car doesn't ride all that smoothly anyway with PSS9s. The front tires are 225/35R19, so a slightly shorter sidewall, but the rears are 285/30R19 just like many of you run on 18s with the same sidewall height. The slightly larger overall diameter does make fitment a bit tougher in the rear.

For pricing, I honestly can't say that I know. All I know is that they were too expensive to purchase the OEM wheels, even used, when I was in the market. I located some replicas from a reputable company, and I was amazed at the quality of these replicas. The casting is excellent, as is the machining. They weigh about the same as OEM BBS, maybe just a tad more. The only downside is that upon close inspection, you can tell the finish is not as excellent as the BBS finish. If someone is interested, shoot me a PM or post up and I can track down the company. I've had replica wheels before that sucked... but I took a chance and that was not the case with these. I certainly won't be using them on the track, of course, but why do that with 19s on a 993 anyway?
