How to verify a C2S and C4S

Is there an option code or something that verifies a C2S or C4S other than the obvious widebody and the minor differences like turbo brakes and suspension on C4S or the split grilles on C2S? I know there are other differences like the S cluster on C2S and turbo sills but I am looking more for something that cannot be just added by anyone to a standard C2/C4. The older Carreras of 84-89 had an option code M491 to make them authentic factory optioned turbo bodied cars verifiable through COA. Just wondering is there such thing on 993s?

I doubt anyone would go through the trouble of adding the brake booster and running gear beyond the wide body to build a 4S from a c2 or c4.

And for the C2S, as long as it is a 97-98 its really unlikely.

Another subtle difference is the texture of the dash and door trim.

Imagine if Honda made a "turbo-look" with same engine and no HP increase over the "regular" model!

It isn't an option code, but the model numbers are different between a C2, C2S, etc.

When stepping up to order a coupe in May of '97 the narrow bodied coupe was the version for me. The idea of the wide turbo body on a non turbo car was not appealing. Soon I'd learn for model year '98 the 2wd coupe was in turbo body form only. And order up I did with a full leather C2S coupe with a long list of options - on par with the Turbo spec car sans the turbo.

The wide Turbo body grows on ya . . . .

M495 is Carrera S
M491 is C4S
M493 is Narrow Bodywork (only denoted on '96+ models)

Does. It. Ever. Especially without the turbo tail.

Or with the Tail! I actually really like the Turbo tail but I do not like those excessive stacked tails - yuck.
