Newbie funny story
So, last night I decided to take my remote apart to clean it inside and out. In the process, I pulled the battery out but left it out, being that it needs to be replaced.
Fastforward to this afternoon: I was at work and, in talking w/ a good friend of mine, offered to show him all the mods I've done to the car. We walk out to the garage (where I typically leave the car during the weekdays), approach the car and, long and behold, the alarm will not disarm. OH S@&t! I forgot about the battery. I tell my friend "No worries, I should be able to open the car w/ the key, which will unlock the door and disarm the alarm". I slip the key in the door lock, turn the key, and... next thing I know the darn alarm is off to the races. I try everything to shut it up: key in the ignition, tried turning it over, key back in the door, etc... Needless to say, I couldn't shut the freakin' thing off lol I locked the car and walked away laughing with the sound of the alarm in the background. (Eventually, it shut off.)
Lesson: don't try to open or drive your car if your remote is out of commission as your ears will pay the price lol I think I've read somewhere that there is an overide process but will research.
Anyone have a RK-116 they don't need? I only have one and would like to have a 2nd in-hand...just in case.

I believe the solution is in the manual. You can even mechanically close the sunroof with a flat car battery - Porsche thought of everything.
One of the first things I did when I purchased my 993 last year was read the manual from cover to cover (yes, while sitting in the car).

A bunch of comedians!
Those were the four longest minutes of the day. Of course, as the alarm is blasting and echoing in the garage, an innocent bystander his eye-balling us as I'm doing the alarm dance.
