I think it's safe to say the 993 is the best looking of them all

I drove a friend's 991 this evening, and then he had a turn in my 993. We both agreed that the 991 was incredibly smooth and powerful, but the 993 was more pure fun to drive.
The 991 has become bloated- in size, creature comforts, and water boiler technology. Sure it drives differently. and generally faster. It should, given all the stuff that's been added.
But, for collectability, and, as an appreciating asset it will not work.

Andreas Preuninger, Porsche GT chief, put out in a public interview this week that he doesn't want to pursue more horsepower in the next gen GT3, but rather work on making the car lighter and better engineered. Maybe we've seen the end of 911 bloating for a bit? Quote and link to original article below:
"“I’m not a believer in this horsepower monster, up, up, up, more, more, more,” he said. “For my personal tastes, around 500 hp is enough, because 700-800 hp calls for bigger brakes, sturdier suspension. It gets heavier and heavier logically.” Performance and improved driver feedback, he says, will come from lighter weight and increased engineering focus."
