As for price: $35k-$38k tops. Cabs are worth less than hardtops and 44k miles are low but not that low. I'm not sure 'original owner' by itself meant much. But as orig owner you probably have all the books and records which is what counts. Name the shop that has worked on the car. A big plus if it's a known air-cooled specialist.

More pics..., interior + exterior.

You have the convertible top cove (boot?), right? If not, take $700 off...
Kelly Moss Motorsports in Madison did the suspension. Zimbrick Porsche in Madison does all the maintenance. I have the boot.

But if it's only worth 35-38 i'm better off building a bigger garage and finally getting a 356 or maybe even better..finding another 993TT. I really do miss that car.

You sold an Arena Red 993 TT????

That explains why you feel like
(I lusted for AR for a long time before finding my car which was a good compromise...)

The little guy in red sitting on your left shoulder says "Don't do it...."

It was not my finest moment. I had recently purchased the Gallardo, which I drive all the time. Somewhere in my mind, I figured that keeping the cabrio and the Lambo would be enough. As much as I enjoy the Lambo, the 993TT was a much more exciting and a lot less *rockstar* on the road.
Out here in the sticks, no one ever really noticed the TT. Noone ever took cellphone pics of it. The Lambo draws way too much attention. I mostly drive it early in the morning on weekends.

I do thank everyone for their opinion on what my cabrio might be valued at. After reading my own words in this thread, I don't think I could sell that car.

To pile on, you have a Smart?!???

There is no getting around the Gallardo being an attention magnet. That said, what makes the 993tt a more 'exciting' drive?

And my 2 cents to your dilemma: sell the cab, get another tt.

I got the Smart from the same guys in Madison that I get all my cars. It was too good of a deal to pass on. I bought the Smart Car black/black and they threw in the Mercedes S-class. And I do like the Smart. I drive it a couple of days a week.

The Lambo is too predictable in the corners. For me the care/skill required to drive the 993TT fast in the corners was the best part. You had to do everything right or it was screw the pooch time. The Lambo goes faster through the corners without any skill required. Be in the right gear and remember to put the coffee cup in the holder.

I am going to talk to my contractor/builder about tearing down my toy garage and building a bigger one. Keeping the cabrio and getting another TT.

Bravo on that decision. Too special of a car to get rid of.

I for one hope the guy gets his $46k; am not exactly complaining when the values of 993 go up.

The second MY98 993 Ebay listing has a Buy Now at $55K. This 993 cabriolet is a C4, being offered by a Volkswagen dealership.

While my car is a C2 and has 60k, it's a late (12/97) build '98 and I paid WAY less than 46k, let alone 55k...here's hoping those 2 EBay sellers get anywhere near their Buy Now prices!

A very nice car.

A very useless thread. WHY!

If you want to know valuations, lets get the latest sales price thread working again. See above sticky thread entitled "993 Prices (Formerly Proposal for 993 pricing thread like Jeremy Pinsly's...) "

What is a very useless thread is one that is 7 years with nothing but dead links pinned to the top.

And on a personal note. It was extremely useful.
I logged on to rennlist after being away for a while with the intention of selling my 993. After reading replies and thinking it through I am going to have a larger garage built.

Glad to hear that you may keep the 993 Cab and add a TT to your collection.
Instead of the expense of a new garage, you should consider adding a few car lifts to provide some storage space.

My point is exactly what you said. We have a tool to understand what people are paying for their 993s. Lets not confuse what people might think your very nice car is worth as compared to real comparables.

So lets use the sticky as it was intended to be used and you will really understand the real, actual market for your car.
