RS 6 point seat belt anchors in floor. Plates obviously weld in from the underside, on the second photo Owen has used a spacer ring, washer & bolt to hold the plate up to the floor whilst he welds it from underneath.

Fascinating build!!! So unusual that the interior will be painted and the exterior left alone. Following the build, will this car stay in Europe or make it's way back to North America?

Apologies for my leave of absense, all caused by being away on a family ski holiday for a week then coming back to an exceptionally taxing week at Ninemeister. The good news is that whilst I was away playing Franz Klamer, Owen and the lads kept themselves busy chopping up a few lengths of old gas pipe and knocking them into a perfect replica of the M003 roll cage.....

The dash receives special attention. A custom under dash strut is being fettled to be welded in between the two A-post tubes, whereas further up the airbag support has been removed and the dash itself is being converted back to accept the glove box in its place.

One final detail in the luggage compartment is the addition of the ABS control module bracket on the right hand chassis leg. Porsche added this to raise the height of the module to protect it from damage should the shape of the boot floor be "compromised" in an accident.

Engine work is now underway in parallel to the body conversion.
Mark has already stripped and cleaned all the engine parts, now the task of putting it all back together begins starting with the crank and new connecting rods. Mark coats the bearings with red engine lube before assembly; ARP rod bolts are covered with graphite based high pressure lubricant for the torque proceedure. Oil pump & layshaft goes into the case first, followed by the assembled crank onto the new main bearings; rear main seal is fitted and aligned before the top half of the case is fitted.

Why isn't Mark wearing a mask when installing those rods? - Just teasing. Sorry but I couldn't help it. You guys work at a whole higher level of standards than most shops. I've got to find something to pick on!
I just love your work. Really wish you guys lived on my side of the pond. If so, I'd be there observing as much as I could while, hopefully, not getting in the way.
