I could if you really desire, but I used all the OEM materials. I just filed out about an 1/8th of an inch in the spacer to ensure the speakers dropped right in. The rears look completely stock just with new speakers underneath the grill. I also added a bass blocker on the 4x6 speakers. Helps alot and you don't miss the bass.

Yes these are nice. I use these in my FJ Cruiser doors.

What was the little nubby bit in the first pic you filed off? I get that you were making room to line up the screw clips for mounting, but what is the nub protruding you filed off?

Daiys, if you see this, I get the rears accepted the factory grills, did you have that option on the front? I noticed in the pic you had the focal grills on. Was that by choice or factory wouldn't fit?

IIRC, the factory grills are pretty specific for the factory speakers. Since I upgraded to the 6.5, no hope of using factory. However, the Focal logo is pretty low...can't even really tell IMHO.

I had similar experience with Polk Audio 6.5's in the front and 4x6's in the rear. They sound great too.

I take it that this is not suitable for the HiFi option.

Actually, the Hi-Fi option allows you to easily make a 3-way front with the 6.5 in the stock location and a mid (3.5-4") mounted to the inside of the HiFi enclosure.

Ed, were you able to find some Polks with modest looking grills for the front? The new ones look a little ... funky? DO you remember the model number by chance?

Yes, I think so. DXi650 for front and DXi460 in rear. I used a dremel to mod the rear stock grills, so they went in pretty easily as well.
