The squeaking is easy. Sway bar rubber mounts need grease. Common issue.

There is no right or wrong or a list to follow. This is your car, take your time to get to know it. Enjoy the ride, literally and figuratively.

...the mods you want will come to you. Enjoy.

I have halted the mod game on the 08 Audi RS4 as I dont see the value in over modding the car. ie you will never get out what you put into it plus I dont think the $/hp ratio is worth it. Got this one 09/2011.

I might be selling my 964 to someone if that happens then I will do some mods to the 993. I dont think the PSS10/Springs and Fister Stg II are too over the top and the Fister mod is easy to revert back. I bought the 993 bc it was better than having my money sitting in the bank, got it last week Dec. 2012.

If I dont sell the 964...them I will hold off on the 993 and pretty much drop the engine out of the beater and get busy. The beater is decent but has a good amt of oil leaks that I want to repair, plus give it a tune up and do some powder coating. This was suppose to be my DE/Street car which I bought in Oct 2012.

Thanks,
Steve aka Newbie
Steve, we were all newbies at one time or the other. Nothing's wrong with it.

However, I still don't hear at all what you are planning to do with a 993. And based on what you've said about RS4... I'm concerned. I truly don't believe in mods for the sake of mods. Unless they solve some specific problem and the mod fits that solution (i.e. your suspension is probably dead and needs replacement, but I would not put PSS10s on a track car, nor street car).

Leon, I grease my poly swaybar mounts on autocross car, but have not heard of needing to grease rubber mounts. Can you or anyone elaborate?

If you are looking at PSS10s you should also consider KWv3. I know a lot of people very happy with them, inculding me.
Congrats and Have Fun!

Check basic maint stuff first pollen filters, oil filters, oil change, trans fluid, wipers, air pressure in tires. Just all the basics so it's good to drive and then fix any issues that may be 60k items or worn items like bushings, mounts, belts, struts are the big item. Then you can move onto 18 in wheels, hid lights, struts brace, shift rod/shifter kit, exhaust, floor mats. Although most people do this backwards.

OK...going to focus on learning/working on the 964 first. Use the 993 in its stock form first for at least 6-months maybe longer.

The 964 needs a little bit of care prior to it being where I would like it to be. Once that gets up to where it needs to be I will start to mod the 993.

Actually, the HID headlights is one mod I would do immediately on a 993. It's $40 and 20 minutes of work and gives you headlights you can... see with.

Exactly!

I always get any used car that I buy into tip top shape with respect to all maintenance items first.

Hey swesna, congrats on the new vehicle and good luck with all the upgrades you do, i hope it goes smoothly. Let me know if you have any questions at all about the exhaust and intake performance side of the car. I will be glad to help you and provide you the best product for your needs. I will also offer you a nice member special discount on everything. We have a few different exhaust options that will give you the power and sound that you want. We are not too far away from you, so feel free to come down for a tour of the facility and have everything installed here. We can even dyno the car before and after to see what it puts down. PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks and Happy New year!
