Glad you figured it out, Al. After looking at my car, it seems like the seal is sandwiched in place and secured with the two hex-bolts. Not sure if that was what giving you trouble.

There was so much fine silt like dirt inside the old seal it acted as glue. I ended up using an Armor-All type of product to saturate it. Slowly wiggling and spraying some more lube helped to free it. Pulled it out w/ a pair of pliers wrapped in a T-shirt so as not to scratch the paint.
You will need to remove the hex bolt closest to the windscreen, the second hex bolt back needs to be loosened quite a bit. A flex adapter is the only way to get to it, and I wrapped that in masking tape to give it a bit more stiffness at the knuckle.
I also loosened the top fender bolts down the the wheel.
Installation was pretty straight-forward and much easier than removal. I used one of the tips previously to shave the seal ribs, then placed it in the freezer for an hour. Sprayed it w/ the lube and tapped it in w/ a small rubber mallet after laying an old T-shirt on top.
Interesting to note that the new seal had a felt-like fur on the ribs whereas the original was all plastic, unless that fine silt/dirt I spoke of earlier was actually deteriorated felt.
I did the passenger side this morning and it was much easier.
I'd take a pic but the coupe is now in storage and the cab is back here for some TLC over the next few months.
When is your new baby arriving?
Best Regards,
