Truly the ricer look, way out of place and terrible to look at.

I would disagree (I'm pretty sensitive about that particular look). But curious if that perception was due to lower mount of the **** or something else, like colored thread.

Reposition the shift **** up today. Much better.

There are a couple of different ways to deal with the top of the boot. One is to have it folded in like OEM. The other is to have it unfolded all the way out. The first is probably the better thing to do (first two pic below) except I didn't have time to properly attach the collar of the boot to the neck of the ****. Please let me know what y'all think. It does feel very right in this "up" position and is very solid with set screw digging into the notch on the shifter rod. The **** height is same as OEM right now AFAIK.

Try holding it on a sunny day or in 30 degree weather without a glove.

Rothsport shifter is an excellent product. But it's not a street product. It's also a $400 short shifter, not just **** and boot. At the very least you'll still need some sort of a boot for it.

Just curious, but how would the rennline **** be any better on a sunny day?

Not sure yet, but it's coated, which makes a huge difference in my sorry experience with assorted metal *****.

Looks much better (less ricer) in the taller position. I personally still don't care all that much for the look either. I think that **** is anodized, which should not affect heat transfer (to your hand).

I like the look of my RS ****, but the feel took some getting used to. Still not sure what I like the best in these cars, so I just quit worrying about it

Raised look was always intended, I guess I got too enthusiastic about pushing it down yesterday

Just drove the car for a few hours. The setup feels very solid and pretty good if I may say so. This is not the final iteration, of course, but it's something. Oh, the heat transfer. We'll see. It's in the 40s here today and the **** did not feel particularly cold to me. But we'll continue to note what happens at different temperatures.

I must say that the look is somewhat secondary for me. The feel is primary. And so far it feels pretty decent.

Mike - we suffer from both cold and hot. I have a carbon steering wheel and **** **** in mine and on a summer day they are brutal to touch! Fortunately, I don't drive it in the winter!

Raised and folded look gets my vote. Heat/cold is not really an issue for me. I have the aluminum/leather shift ****.

For me the leather boot is the problem as its another color and texture thrown into the fold!

What about cutting the original boot out of the old **** and using that?

Bought my ex one of those for her Z3. I think it may have been the best feel of any I've used (tried to phrase that carefully).
