Exhaust Tone
Hello folks,
I know this topic has been discussed over and over but this is an excuse to post a video I guess.
I currently have Fabspeed mufflers but an looking for a little more 'snarl' in the tone.
I almost want to modify the stock mufflers as this would allow me to re-install the factory large oval exhaust tips. I am a DIY guy looking for a winter project as the car is now in storage (vid was taken after a early oct snowfall prior to storage).
Oh yeah, video:

Run no mufflers, I do. I live in a very nice quiet area where at 10 am you can still hear a mouse fart. No complaints from my neighbors.
Without mufflers, its really deep, some drone, but then again I like it. I am running the stock cat thou. I heard that w/o the cat, its super loud.

You could attempt to replicate the sound of Darin's cans by cutting yours open and messing around. I know there was some trial and error on his part to get to his signature sound, so your results would probably differ from his.

I would agree that the Fister Stage III's have a bit more snarl and lower (bass-ier) tone. I have the Fabspeed supercups on the C2 and the stage III's on the C2S - if you are ever in the Chicago area you would be welcome ot stop by. Otherwise, I would recommend finding someone in your area that has a set on their car.

Hey Adam, don't forget about our optional modular Sport Cat/Catbypass X Pipe. It will give you the best of both worlds and improve the sound your currently have but with a little more deeper and sportier Porsche sound. You can always switch between sport Cats or bypass pipes to get the sound and power you want.
Pm me if you have any questions and for special member pricing.
Thanks,

At idle and part throttle the Fabspeed's are louder - I think at full throttle they are about the same db (just my thought, I have not done any measuring of noise level). In general, I think the Fabspeed sounds more "raw" and many people think it sounds like I have a V8 in the car. The Fister's seem more "tuned", have a bit more bass and seem to "gurgle" a little more.
Like I said to the OP, anyone in the Chicago area is welcome to come by and listen to both side by side.

I have Stage lll's, and have driven in anger in front of-right behind-and a few cars back...of a set of supercups(Ironimages). When I was immediately behind, I had to look at my tach to make sure I was still running. It was real easy to know when the pace was gonna be lifted.
The supercups sound incredible, but they drone-and I have heard it from outside the car....can't imagine what it sounds like inside. IMHO, either Stage lll's, or the new Sport cats, and Stage l's are the way to go. I have yet to hear that combo in person.
All that being said, when I think about my Stage lll's I touch myself.
