Looks like almost a twin to my 97. Nice.

I've never seen classic grey interior with a black headliner before. Perhaps this was a special order. Typically, cars with black headliners come with black dashboards, black A pillar trim and black door panel upper panels. Weird.

Got a picture just sent to me of the option sticker that is stuck to the underside of the front hood. Will post it up...you are the second person that asked me about this. I knew about it because I was happy to see it on my 964.

It is there with matching VIN number

Also, got a picture showing removal of the dealership decal

I am not sure if the headliner is black or not. I am guessing you are looking the the sunroof pic?

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks everyone for the welcome and feedback on the car. I am going to try my best to hold off on modding this one until I get my 964 ready for DE events.

Thanks again,
Steve

Congrats Steve...AR is an awesome color! I used to live in Mt. Laurel in the late 70's and attended grade school at Our Lady Of Good Counsel in Moorestown if you are familiar with it.

Chris,

Thanks. I will be happy once it is sitting in the driveway or better yet when I get to drive it for the first time. This will be the first time I drive a 993 and the first time I drove a Porsche at all was the 964 which I bought two months ago.

Yes, I know of that school. Mt Laurel and Moorestown are nice areas. I am sure Moorestown has changed a lot since the 70s.

Tan top with AR is a nice combo.

Thanks again,
Steve

I'd never driven a Porsche, let alone a 993, until my car showed up on the truck in April. You'll love it!

And pony up a couple of pesos and get yourself a Rennlist membership, you won't regret it!

I never feel bad telling them to get rid of the dealer sticker, unless they want to pay me to advertise for them !

I did the same with my RS4 just bought it at the dealership w/o test drive and when I picked it up drove it home for the first time. No regrets...and I highly doubt I will have any with the 993. I have liked that model when they were new at the dealerships.

Yes, I need to get to the Rennlist membership will be soon...no doubt...just procrastinating.

Very nice addition to the stable. I'd be interested in your personal thoiughts about the differences between the 964 and 993.

Here are pics of the 91 964 it is Midnight Blue which I think is a great color. It cost $10.5K plus $300 for PPI.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/6416866...7631770678346/

I have not even registered it yet as I only drove it for about 2.5 hrs from where I bought it and drove it around a little prior to starting to take the rear apart.

This weekend I am moving some stuff from the garage and cleaning it a bit. Then going to back in the 964 to prepare for working on replacing engine gaskets, adjust the valves, replacing distributor caps/rotors, spark plugs, oil filter and then when all done refilling the oil. Also, want to clean and powder coat whatever I take off while doing the work: engine tins, valve covers etc. I want to see how much I can get done w/o taking out the engine at this point.

The 964 runs well but leaks oil (not as much as I originally thought) therefore I figure it would be a good winter project. Actually for its age and mileage which is over 130K the ride home from me picking it up surprised me on how well it ran and handled in general. I don't remember the last time I had driven a car this old.

Probably won't be too fair of a comparison until the Spring, not sure if even fair at that point...but will be interesting to see the differences between a 91 with high mileage and a 97 with more than half the mileage.

Thanks,
Steve

Just booked my shipping with Intercity decided it was not worth flying out there and driving back or saving money by using non-enclosed transport.

non-enclosed is $920
enclosed is $1395

+475 worth the peace of mind.
