New 993 Owner
Just wanted to officially introduce myself to the 993 forum and thank everyone for the information contained in the forum. I used Rennlist to identify an experience air-cooled shop to do the PPI on the car which obviously is an important step in the car buying process.
I officially bought the car this week. It is still sitting at the dealership waiting to be shipped to NJ.
The car is in very good shape mechanically (leak down 5% across all cylinders, 95/75% brake pads f/r, new tires etc.) and has had a respray of the front bumper, d/p front fenders and hood and blended into the doors. The shop that did the PPI said there were no signs of the car being in an accident and that it looked to be just a respray for rock chips. Also, the car came with a clean carfax (not always accurate but helps) and was a California car for all but one year.
I more than likely am only planning on keeping the car for a year as I will want to either obtain a 993 CS/C4S or a GT3 in the future. If I end up enjoying the car too much I will keep it longer...also is highly dependent upon availability of funds at end of next year.
My current cars besides this one are a 91 C2 and a 08 Audi RS4.
Here is a link to picture on flikr of the car:

Thanks again.

Welcome.
Who was the selling dealer? Was there a white 5"x5" option sticker stuck to the underside of the front hood? If so, this would strongly indicate the hoods originality. Anyway, the 3-digit codes are the 993 coupes build options.

Rennsport in Tulsa, OK did the PPI. Based on a google search seemed to be a good shop to get PPIs done on air-cooled cars.
I know exactly what stick you are talking about...hopefully it is there. Will let you guys know for sure once it gets here.
Thanks.

I am waiting on them to tell me I can pick it up...wire transferred the money to them on Tuesday. Typical dealership being non attentive post sale. But they were very helpful prior to the sale with sending me pictures on Saturday and a Carfax and then driving it over to Rennsport for the PPI.
I sent another email asking if the car is ready for pick-up and ask them if they could snap a picture of the label under the front hood.

Brian from Rennsport told me that they were Michelin...not sure which model though. Will post up once the car gets here.
