The fact that the slider is square and parallel doesn't mean that mounting holes are drilled square, I would think. In other words, I'd look at the holes in the OEM rails and see if they would park the seat exactly perpendicular to the dash (I'm pretty sure they do not).

OK, below are measurements I took with a square and a plum bob. The square happens to be 410 mm on its short side between and is against the forward bolts showing their center to center distance. The rear mounting bolts lie exactly on a line perpendicular to the front bolt mounting line and the rear bolts are also 410 mm apart.

Dropping a plum bob from the right side of the glove box opening shows the distance from the square to be 310 mm.

Sliding the plum bob to the other side of the glove box shows the same distance 310 mm to the plum bob tip from the square.

So the dash is parallel to the front mounting line of the seats and the seat rails lines are perpendicular to the dash and parallel to each other.

It all looks pretty symmetric to me.

Also the stock rails have their holes symmetric in sliders

So to summarize I am going to try the Recaro brackets and use their forward mounting holes and re-drill rear holes if necessary and use a Profi Xl seat with correct side brackets.

One thing though is that I am not going to use the slider mounting bolts for seat belts, they will go direct to chassis. I don't trust this slider to withstand seat belt loads.

Well, I realize I'm not really answering your question. But just a tip.

If you track the car, I would recommend direct bolt-in stationary brackets. That's me.

Take care!

I obviously erred on the rear measure

I used the same seats and the same sliders, which are Recaro re 0.70.9NT

I kept the front holes and redrilled the rears

also used the RS tunnel side mount & washers for the stock 3 point belt

the 6pt harness mounts are to pad chassis mounted eyes
1 side I have a Gt3 sub bar the other pad eyes

I note that Bill is using the correct Recaro side plates for a 430 mm seat and the whole thing bolted up by only drilling two holes in the Recaro sliders.

BTW, until a few years ago those Recaro sliders were only available from Porsche Motorsport and only came with one of their Porsche branded Recaro SPG race seats for a Cup car .

I have a Wedge Engineering slider that was used w/ a Recaro SPG Pro Racer in my 951 race car if anyone is interested. It made for an easy bolt-in installation.

Cupcar, I don't think that a passenger seat is affected. The driver seat is.

Here's a simple thing. When you have your Recaros in, is your chest centered with the steering wheel?

I have read that in fact the stock seats are also off center from the steering wheel but one doesn't notice it as much because unlike in a race seat, one can sit off center on them. To me, it does seem like the wheel is slightly offset to the car middle.

Yes stock seats are already noticeably off center from the steering wheel. So you're all saying that the aftermarket rails will make it even worse?

Significantly more obvious on Recaros with Recaro (Wedge) bracket. I'd say there's at lest 1-1.5" difference.

I was looking at a pair of Recaro PP's for sale and I was off centre to the wheel too (at least noticeably felt like it). Install was with Recaro brackets, sliders etc.

So is there a proper, relatively inexpensive solution to resolve this?
