I'm still waiting for the part where smoking hot girls spontaneously remove their undergarments upon seeing that I drive a Porsche 911.

Still waiting...

Lol. Unfortunately so far, I've only been approached by middle aged men wanting to know how much oil she burns and if it's the "Turbo" or not.

Where are all the super models that are supposed to throw themselves at me! I could have sworn this was mentioned somewhere in the owners manual...

yup.. funny enough a client found out I have a FJ40 and my 993 and i got the "must be nice" comment. I wanted to tell him that his newish x5 was worth more than both cars combined.

Well I had a a guy ask me how the heck I could afford a new Porsche? I laughed and said at some point you gotta do what the heck you wanna do! I drive mine daily and park smartly. When folks ask silly questions I also tell them you can spend $30K on a Honda or on a great timeless 993.

To my astonishment, I've had attention from more than a few chicks since getting my guards red 993 6 months ago. I've gotten 2 actual dates directly because of this car so far, but neither of them were quality women, shall we say (in both cases, girls asking me out at traffic lights: "Hey where are you going? We're going to Nunu's for a drink! Come with us!"). I'm 38 and I take pretty good care of myself and I live in San Diego, if that helps form the picture.

That reminds me, the first week I had it, I was sitting in a bar by the front window (Blind Lady Alehouse on Adams) with the car parked right in front of me, and these two (beautiful but slutty-looking) young ladies walk by and start posing on the hood and taking pictures of each other. I couldn't believe it. I was getting ready to go outside and yell at them right as they finished and left. Unbelievable. There is a big **** industry in SD, and I have a feeling these two were part of that empire.

Out of the 10 years I had my '84 Targa, I never got any attention associated with the car, but Porsches are pretty ubiquitous out here.

Much rather drive my moderately horsepowered 993 close to the edge than risking a ticket in a 991 that cost 4 times as much, depreciates the moment you sign for it, and then can never work on it myself. My pcar + RL = 3 x's the enjoyment.

I'm a young(ish) engineer that recently started in a new position and more recently bought my C4S. Been saving for years and the timing was right. I remember the comments when I decided to drive it to work. The whispers around the office make me feel guilty for driving something that I worked pretty hard for.

The ppl who know me all say the same thing: " you deserve it and you worked hard for it". The ignorant ppl who don't know me are the ones making the comments. I even had one guy say "now I know where my xmas bonus us going....to the new guy".

BTW, I drive a lime green auto Toyota Tercel as a daily driver. I feel my priorities are aligned.

why can't you work on a 991?

Did they stop using nuts, bolts, and screws on it?
