Blue Ridge Parkway, left hand bend, 4500 rpm in second gear, motor making that glorious wailing, growling, thrumming, whirring music, seat heaters baking our buns--- man oh man oh man, I am in love with this wonderful little machine!!

Looks like you're having a wonderful drive. You got out just before the snow on Saturday morning....although it was 58 degrees today and not a hint of snow from yesterday. Congrats on the first roadtrip.

By the way, heres how crucial rennlist is: after clam chowder in mass and quahogs in R. I. (yum!) I notice cruise control has died. After checking fuse and while wife is shopping I search and find tip about lifting clutch pedal to release switch. Problem solved!
Good for you. Owned mine for 3 mos now and I've yet to figure out how to use the cruise control...

Have a safe and fun filled trip.

Well, we finally got home and I'm still married, even after 3 days on the road with my wife in a 993. Matter of fact, I think she likes the car as much as I do and she ended up driving a lot of the way. Listen, these cars are extraordinary. The thing never missed a beat, it averaged over 25 mpg, and I can't tell that the oil level moved any at all on the dipstick. It performed flawlessly on the interstates, in the cities, and on the twisties. It amazes me that a 16 year old car can be this tight and this responsive. I think I'm in love. I just found myself sitting in the garage with a glass of Pinot noir just looking at the lines of the bodywork.

I've already got some projects I want to do, and I know that a simple search of this forum will lead me to someone who's already solved the problems and posted the solutions.

As soon as I get the photos loaded from my 'real' camera, I'll post some better pix than the iPhone stuff I've been doing. Thanks to all who gave me the advice on the trip. This is one remarkable forum.

^^^ the above is a classic Porsche sports car ownership start. No need to worry but keep it up,,, and the neighbors will start to talk.

Our 993 ownership started similar to yours. The odometer read 11 miles at the dealership as the Florida to Colorado road trip got under way. Once home the coupe was up on jack stands with wheels removed,,, and me rolling around on a floor creeper admiring the chassis......

Good luck with your Cabriolet . .
